Hall Effect sensing avoids the physical contact wear of traditional potentiometer-based sticks. Hall Effect sticks use magnetic position sensing to reduce the contact wear associated with conventional stick drift.

The joycons themselves are beautiful and well crafted. The buttons are comfortable and firm to press.
